“I have flourished a lot under Coach Jazz's guidance. She has helped me improve in my technique by giving me different exercises to succeed in my technique, She also helps me with my endurance by having me do cardio workouts and run miles at home. Coach Jazz cares so much about what I want to do in the future, even though she hasn’t fully met me in person. I feel like the connection we hold makes me think we have already met.”

Hi, I'm Jazmine Freeman!

Here's a little bit about myself...

I am a dancer, performer, choreographer, producer, and director.

An Atlanta native, who obtained my Bachelors of Arts in Theater with a dance concentration from Spelman College in 2019, and a Master’s in Fine Arts from Mills College at Northeastern University in 2021.

In the short time since receiving my Master’s, I have performed with the Mills College Repertory Company, Adinkra Dance Project, Abundance Dance Company, and have performed as a freelance artist. My favorite performance experience was last year when I danced for the home-going service of Kirshnik Khari Ball, better known as “TakeOff” or “Rocket” at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena. In addition, I also was the assistant choreographer for The Incredible Book Eating Boy at the Alliance Theater (Danielle Swatzie/Choreographer) and choreographed The Heathers at The University of West Georgia where I served as an adjunct professor of dance.

My passion for dance and my accomplishments have been recognized in the arts industry and have led me to receive invitations to present and several conferences. I have presented my thesis topic (Dance is a Healing Modality for Black Women) at the National Dance Education Organization 2022 Conference: “Reignite the Spark.”

I believe that dancers are the athletes of God, and my life’s mission is to serve the community through movement and dance, while also training the next generation of artists to be technically and artistically proficient in the art form.

I look forward to being a lifelong learner, teaching-artist, choreographer, and Director of Dance at Martha Ellen Stilwell School of the Arts and other educational spaces. Through my business: JazmineRachelCreative, I aspire to inspire and provide safe educational dance spaces for all.
